Tonight launches Sustainable Mondays’ August line-up of programming–all about harvesting–with a focus on the joys and basic how-to’s of canning. There will be the opportunity to get hands on practice and the chance to listen to and share family stories about putting up food for the winter (for a link to the whole month’s line-up featuring not only canning, but honey extracting, wild ricing, and a discussion on sulfide mining, click here for August’s line up).

We’ll be meeting off-campus tonight, Monday, August 6th, from 5:30 to 7:30 pm at Harmony Co-op’s Community Kitchen (302 Irvine Ave.). To get there, just come through Harmony’s front doors and you’ll be directed to the inspiring new kitchen space.
Three generations of the Carlson family will be there to share what they’ve learned throughout the years and get you excited about the chance to get started with the basics of canning techniques. We look forward to seeing you there! Free will donations requested to help cover costs of jars and produce!
